For buyers: two live payment rails use different custody models. Direct Pay: you pay the seller directly off-platform while WebAZ records risk confirmation, Passkey authorization, payment-information snapshots, order states and evidence — WebAZ never holds that principal, does not verify the seller's payee or payment method, does not guarantee payment and cannot refund on the seller's behalf. USDC escrow: eligible orders can deposit real USDC into an immutable smart contract on Base mainnet; availability is product- and runtime-gated, per-order caps are enforced on-chain, and the contract has not been third-party audited.
