AI ecommerce and agentic commerce
Describe what you need. Let an AI help find and compare products. Keep the decision to purchase separate.
AI ecommerce can mean many things, from writing product descriptions to answering customer questions. Here, agentic commerce means a shopping agent using product information and tools to help with a buying task. AI-native commerce makes that information and those actions accessible to software, not just to people clicking a storefront.
What changes for a buyer?
A keyword such as “travel mug” does not explain your commute. A useful shopping request includes capacity, leak resistance, a delivery destination and a budget. An agent can compare the available facts, link to products and show what is still missing.
The benefit is a shortlist you can inspect, not an unexplained recommendation. A lower listed price does not necessarily mean a lower delivered total: variant, quantity, shipping and other applicable costs matter.
How WebAZ fits into the workflow
- Discover: browse the public catalog, read product pages or use the documented public HTTP interface.
- Compare: a compatible agent can read product facts through HTTP or a manually configured MCP connection. Ask it to distinguish stated specifications from unknowns.
- Decide: inspect the chosen variant, quantity, destination, current quote and delivery terms before considering a purchase.
- Authorize separately: ordering and payment use their own supported credentials and permissions. Read-only discovery does not grant permission to buy. See the client-specific setup and x402 integration documentation.
Public webpages, a manually connected MCP server and a platform's own shopping index are different discovery routes. Publishing on WebAZ does not guarantee Google indexing or automatic availability in every ChatGPT conversation.
For merchants: make products comparable
A useful listing answers practical buyer questions: which model and variant, which dimensions and materials, which destinations, what delivery estimate, and which return terms. Keep prices, stock and specifications current. Missing information should remain unknown rather than become an AI guess.
Begin by checking how your public product page reads to a customer. Better product data supports better comparisons; it is not a promise of traffic, sales or ranking.
For shopping agent developers
Start with read-only discovery and preserve product source links in your results. Test missing specifications and unavailable products before adding purchase actions. Your interface should show the distinction between a research result and an authorized purchase.
